It's Been A While

These past few days have been some of the best I can remember. I feel bad saying this, but a lot of it is because I was unhappy when I was with Kendra, so this feels great. Sadly, finals week is coming up, but the new episode of LU will help make that pass. I'll try to remember to update this more often so the two of you who see this can see what's goin' on.

Also, Lost season 3 is at the very tippy-most top point of my Christmas list...I'd better get it.

I Want To Play A Game

Gah, it's been too long since I updated last.

I saw Saw IV last week with a few friends, and I thought it was pretty good. It's been getting mixed reviews because it was a bit confusing and the people who didn't get it so much didn't like it so much either. I turned my "Lost sense" on, which means I carefully listened to things people said and things you see in the background, etc., in order to try to figure everything out. I'm pissed at myself because I caught several things that would've told me the ending, I just didn't connect them.

I know there was more I was going to say, but I just can't remember it...I really should start keeping a small notebook with me so I wouldn't forget.

Oh! The List /does/ exist!!! And I'm still on it! Hooray for me!
Speaking of Lost, I've gotten my girlfriend to watch all the way through The 23rd Psalm so far, and she still likes it, as far as I can tell. Once I get through this next and the next, I can start her listening to old episodes of Lost Unlocked (which I haven't heard either, really), and I know it's safe for her to listen to them because it's Spoiler Free!

Still speaking of Lost, I am one of the top of my German class because my roommate (and best friend sicne 8th grade, and German major) has the first season of Lost in German, which we watch often. Did you know that the German word for 'airplane' literally means "flying thing"?

And Here We Are

Nothing much has changed yet, so it's hard to think of new things to ramble about.

This Saturday makes it one month with Kendra and me. It is true that I still have doubts of some sort, but I'm waiting it out to see if it works out. What should I do for our one month? I mean, besides the football game Arkansas vs. Florida International that I have to march in.

Lost update: I have been spoiled... *breaks down crying*

My roommate told me the title of the first episode of season 4...which I won't bring up here. But, for the record, I really don't think it spoiled anything. At least, I hope not. It seemed to be a bit generic. It's been a while, but it may or may not have been one of the guesses made by Chris or Brian on the amazing Lost Unlocked Podcast (or LUP, for short). And no, it is not "Blood on My Hands".

Off We Go...

Things are still going pretty well. Mr. Gunter (the band director) decided to give us the rest of the week off, so no band until Monday! He rewarded us for our hard work learning 3 different shows for four weeks of home games the past four weeks. So very happy, it makes me.

Also, I've gotten Kendra (girlfriend) started on Lost. She wasn't too interested at first, but I pushed her into certain episodes that are usually the hooks (the ones that have the "WTF" moments): Walkabout (Locke was paralyzed?!?!), House of the Rising Sun (Sun can speak English?!?!), Solitary (French lady is alive?!?!), and we're coming up on one of the best hooks, Raised By Another (holy $#*!, who's Ethan and why'd he take Chaire/Clarlie?!?!).

Oh yeah, also, I got a 92 on the Calculus midterm, which really makes up for the homework I /may/ have forgotten to do.

Looking Up?

So I have a girlfriend now; her name is Kendra Frazier. I'm happy now.

Out of boredom, I've started writing a short story; I may someday post it here, but I'm not sure yet, as it isn't exactly the most conventional style of writing. Also, each chapter so far is one page double-spaced. It's a post-apocalyptic, western, romance story about a boy named Tomato; he has laser-eyes, like most tomatoes. Now if that didn't convince you to not want to read it, I'm not sure what would.

La-De-Da

So tonight, I introduced my girlfriend to Lost; we watched the pilot. Oh wait, I didn't explain my girlfriend? Yeah, her name is Kendra. Things are going ok, I think, which is good. But I'm not sure.

At the game on Saturday, we slaughtered the Mean Green with a score of 66 to 7, which was great, because after the past two games, people were petitioning to fire the coach.

In my alone time, all I do is play Wii and listen to Lost podcasts. Does that make me a loser?

College = Tired

I get so preoccupied with class and friends that I end up having little time to just sit down and update this. I find time for podcast-listening as I go to sleep, but I often don't have time to respond to them. It makes me sad. But I'm working on it. I'm determined to accomplish /something/ in the next couple days.

Things Naturally Make Little Sense

Things are looking up. Classes aren't too bad, the weather is cooling down so band is less stressful, Lost is getting nearer with every passing day, and Jane and I laid on my bed and held hands and talked for 3 hours. Things are good.

But we (her and I) aren't anything yet. She wants to make sure she likes me for the right reasons. And so far, it really is looking up.

In other news, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is awesome.

Awkward silence ^

I'm sitting in the union right now, waiting to go to some one-on-one mentor session. Our friend Ron is using a piece of shrimp from his sushi and he's making it dance. This part really isn't important, so I'll stop now.

Ok then.

I'm not going to use this to whine anymore. I feel bad. I feel slightly hypocritical.

College has been better; I dropped Physics because I just didn't have the time to teach myself Physics (teacher hardly taught) while I had 8+ hours of Marching Band a week.

I freakin' can't wait for Super Smash Bros. Brawl on my Wii. That's one of the biggest reasons I picked a Wii. To gear up for it, I've been practicing Melee; Link was my best character for the longest time, but now I'm pretty darn good with Samus. I want Brawl!

Wow, these sentences are almost all simple sentences; I dunno what happened to my writing.

Oh yeah, I introduced Jane and Mindy to Lost, and now they love it. We've watched the first 13 episodes together. Sadly, they know some of the characters live because they're on my Season 3 Lost poster.

Whoa...

Oh God...what to do...

She invited to eat at her aunt's house and possibly even stay the night so I can go to a cook-out they're having tomorrow afternoon. I seriously don't know.

Just Don't Know

I wasn't intending to have a blog to be all emotional about things, but in these circumstances, I say screw it.

The girl I mentioned? I got into a weird situation. She's from Connecticut. Three days ago, she broke up with her boyfriend of two years. She had a slight attraction to this guy Jared (which is totally unrelated to the boyfriend break-up). And she trusts me above all others to talk to about all of this. So I was in this delicate situation because I wanted to help her and I had to somehow stop myself from not giving her advice that would advance her vision of me. Somehow it worked...well, half-way. Tonight, we talked for two hours (she just left) and we got really in depth; she knows nearly all of my darkest secrets and vice versa. She got into all the things she looks for in a guy, each of which I know I have, but she doesn't really seem to notice that I possess them all. I don't want to say much else for now...

Longer Days

Gah, so sorry I haven't updated much; my schedule ended up being incredibly ridiculous. I have friends who are taking 16 hours worth of classes and they have classes every weekday from 10-2. I, on the other hand, picked an Engineering major, while also taking band; I have 31 hours of class a week. I'm doing nearly double the work for the credit I'm receiving. I have a Physics Lab every Monday and Wednesday night from 7:30-9:30 PM, a class I had no idea about until my first day of college. I have 9 hours of class on Monday, between 7:30 AM and 9:30 PM and 7 hours of class between those same times on Wednesday. Friday is slightly less evil. But, thank God, Tuesday, my first class is 12:30 and, even better, tomorrow (today, technically), first class at 2:30, and then I'm done by 5:30.

Well that's enough of my class complaining. Next post should be soon; there's a girl...well, sorta not...

Long Days

This is only my fourth day here, and it already feel like so much more. We've been doing band things for most of the day, 5.5 hours of it out in the sun with triple digit temperatures marching on pavement. The good news is that the people in our mellophone section are wonderful. Ok, I'm tired; I go back to sleep for a little bit.

Moving In

In less than seven hours, I will officially be moved into my dorm room. I was one of many who had to go a week early for marching band, which will suck...a lot. We practice three times a day for three hours each time on pavement in 100ish degree weather. Hooray.

And There It Wasn't

For some reason, Youtube just doesn't feel like uploading my video correctly, so I'm resorting to Photobucket, which also will upload videos. Don't expect a super-pretty video here; this was pretty much just what I had learned after a couple of days of teaching myself and has a...weird feel to it.

Sight and Sound

I finally finished it. It's about 2:33 long, and it works perfectly...on my computer. When I convert it, however, the audio and video no longer match up.

Update: Somehow, I got it to work near perfectly. The video slows down a bit as it goes, but the music still ends up working. I got extremely lucky. If any of the 1 of you want to see my first flash film (where I used absolutely no code and pretty much just taught myself), go here

Late Mornings

Ever since I stayed up all though the night to read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, my sleep schedule has been out of whack. I've been going to bed at 5am and waking up at 1pm. I'm getting my eight hours of sleep, but I think those are the wrong eight. It's not like I haven't tried to sleep; I have, and it didn't work. So to occupy myself, I took up Flash. I'm getting better than I was before, and now I have the trailer about half-way done and a one minute short done for another couple of friends. I would think about doing that for a living, but I already have goals; I needn't be setting lower ones.

Flash Before My Eyes

Most of you don't know this, but about a year and a half ago I got two of my good friends together, Daniel and Elise. We call them Danielise for short. Well, I would get bored in class, and I would make this short comic about the two of them doin' stuff; it was basically a satire on them, as the characters would say things like "Where he go?" and the real Danielise is incredibly smart. Anyway, I've been pretty bored this summer, without another Lost experience to enjoy, so two days ago, I decided to make an animated version of The Adventures of Danielise. So I decided to learn Flash.
I've been teaching myself. So far, I've worked about 7.5 hours on it, and I have 33 seconds done on this Danielise Trailer. It'll be a total of about 2:30 when I'm done, so I still have a couple days of work left on this baby. I'll probably continue updating my progress on here. If you want to see the first 33 seconds, it's here http://youtube.com/watch?v=T-c2BqkVqxo.

The First One

I haven't used a blog for quite a while; I'm not even sure what I'm going to use it for. Well, um...I'm pretty much a normal guy. Wait, scratch that, I'm not a normal guy; I'm one of those "nice guys" who has a bunch of girl friends but no girlfriends. Yeah, that's closer to the truth. So that'll be enough for the first post...yeah.
